I’d also like some kind of dependancy feature but I guess that wouldn't really work without losing some of the exquisite simplicity. But it’s close to perfect for people who don’t wear too many hats, and it does a better job of holding your hand and keeping you from messing about. I wish they had a parser for the add to things email so you could add start date/deadline/tags/list in the subject line. I’d like it if Things offered self-service sync like OF does, although their sync works better for me generally speaking (I think because of geographical factors). 3.5 Good By Jill Duffy Updated JThe Bottom Line OmniFocus is a powerful to-do app for Apple devices, and if you're a subscriber, a web app as well. But Things keeps me from doing irrelevant system tweaking. I think they are both great options and if you’re not prone to fiddling OF is probably more powerful. Standard Notes also encrypts from themself but its really just for text, and it still. Once you have sync set up, anything you change on your iOS device is waiting for you on your Mac when you get back to your room. The Pro version lets you build custom perspectives that are transmitted to the iOS version over sync. Some folks even buy a Mac just to run OmniFocus. All others (Things, Todoist, Asana, RTM, Nozbe, Workflowy, Evernote, etc.) dont encrypt from their employees. Biggest pro tip: invest in OmniFocusPro for the Mac. Of all the 'online/cloud' todo/project systems, Ive only found OF to do this. I love the review feature, and I very much like Forecast, but right now I’m back on the Things side of the fence. No, I dont think they can as the data is encrypted even from them. I think what keeps me going back to OF now and then is that vague promise of a perfect system. I find what keeps me coming back to Things 3 is ease of use and speed of interface (Accessing task notes is much faster than in OF), and checklists. Capability of dividing projects up into categories, i.e. I noticed that Things and Todoist do this, but OmniFocus doesnt. I am chronic with this switch back-and-forth - it kind of replaces my quarterly review :/. Automatically push unfinished items to the current day.
